Carlyle Smith has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Their most recent role was as the Director of Information Technology at the Strathmore Hall Foundation, Inc., where they supported servers, workstations, and users using a variety of technologies. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Information Officer at SysArc, a managed services provider, where they worked with clients to assess their technology needs and plan upgrades. Carlyle also held the position of Vice President Network Services at LimeLeap Solutions, where they led a team of engineers supporting multiple clients. Carlyle began their career at Reimers Systems, Inc. as a Senior Engineer, designing life-support systems and high-performance fire suppression systems.

Carlyle Smith completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering at Virginia Tech from 1985 to 1989. Additionally, Carlyle holds certifications as a Cisco Certified Network Associate, a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, and a Professional Engineer licensed by the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation.
