Jeff Thornburg

Jeff Thornburg is a seasoned aerospace professional with extensive experience in engineering and leadership roles across various companies. Currently, Thornburg serves as CEO and Co-founder of Portal Space Systems, where the focus is on solving dynamic space operations. Additionally, roles include mentoring at the Creative Destruction Lab's Space Stream and advisory positions with Stratolaunch and Sintavia. Thornburg previously held the position of Chief of Engineering at Commonwealth Fusion Systems, driving critical engineering efforts to address energy and climate challenges. Other notable experiences include serving as Chief Engineer at Ursa Major and holding executive positions at Amazon and Interstellar Technologies. Thornburg's academic background includes a Master’s in Aeronautical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
