Anita Patwardhan Butler

Anita Patwardhan Butler has extensive work experience in the field of design and product development. Anita Patwardhan is currently serving as the Chief Design Officer at Strava since January 2023. Before that, Anita held various positions at Twitter, including VP of Product Design and Senior Design Director, where they led a team of 40+ design directors, managers, and product designers. Prior to Twitter, they worked at Facebook as the Head of Design for the Stories Experience.

Anita also has experience in the e-commerce industry, having worked at companies such as Ancestry and SEPHORA. At Ancestry, they served as the VP of Product Design and Research and the Senior Director of User Experience and Research for DNA/Health. At SEPHORA, Anita held the position of Head of Design and Research, where they oversaw the UX for various digital channels and managed a team of 8 UX professionals.

In addition, Anita has worked at Hotwire as the Director of Product Design, where they directed the UX for Hotwire.com, CarRentals.com, and TripWatcher. Anita Patwardhan also served as the Interim Vice President of Product, leading the 2014 strategic product roadmap.

Anita started their career as a Creative Director at Walmart.com, where they led a team of 50+ designers, content strategists, production artists, photographers, and stylists. Before that, they worked at Bank of America as the Marketing UX and Creative Director, overseeing a team of 25 designers and copywriters.

From 2003 to 2005, Anita ran their own consultancy called Anita Patwardhan Design, working with clients such as Banana Republic, AOL Time Warner, UCSF Medical Center and Children's Hospital, Snapfish, and others. Anita Patwardhan also gained experience at AOL LLC as a Senior Designer and Senior Writer.
