Matthew Salerno

Matthew Salerno has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Their most recent role is as the CEO and Founder of Buoy Development, a Brooklyn-based software company specializing in building native iOS and Android applications and web APIs. Prior to founding Buoy Development in 2014, Matthew worked as a Software Developer at Gust from 2013 to 2014. In 2013, they were also a Co-organizer of the RubyMotion NYC Meetup, a developer meetup focused on RubyMotion skills. Before that, they worked as a Software Developer at Cyrus Innovation, where they gained experience in iOS and web development using Cocoa Touch, iOS, RubyMotion, Ruby/Rails, Javascript, HTML5, Test Driven Development, and Agile/Scrum Methodologies. Matthew also had the opportunity to speak at the Gotham Ruby Conference (GORUCO) in 2013. Their earlier experiences include being a Ruby on Rails Developer In Training at The Flatiron School in 2012 and serving as the Operations Manager and Scrum Master at Cyrus Innovation from 2009 to 2012. Prior to entering the software development field, Matthew worked as a Paralegal at Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP and as a Paralegal Intern at the Kings County District Attorney's Office.
