Ashley Garcia Torres

Ashley Garcia Torres serves as Board Secretary and a member of the Board of Directors at STRIDE Community Health Center since October 2021. Currently, Ashley holds the position of Secretary to the Board and Board Member at the Academy of Urban Learning, starting January 2024. As a Student Director and Engaged Scholar Activist at the Regis University Center for Service Learning since August 2022, Ashley is actively involved in various fellowships, including roles at the National Center for Youth Law and Law School...Yes We Can! since September 2023 and May 2022, respectively. Additionally, Ashley coordinates policy fellow activities and conducts education research at Young Aspiring Americans for Social and Political Activism (YAASPA) since February 2020. Future internships include a role at Young Invincibles and a position as Legislative Intern at the Colorado House of Representatives. Ashley recently completed a short-term fellowship with JULIAN and has interned at Common Cause. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Regis University, expected to graduate in May 2025.

STRIDE Community Health Center

STRIDE Community Health Center, formerly known as Metro Community Provider Network (MCPN), is a 501(c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a 30-year history of providing primary care and other health-related services in a community-based setting. Established in 1989 in response to the primary health care needs of the medically indigent population in suburban Denver, STRIDE now has one of the largest population base of any FQHC in Colorado. STRIDE addresses the need for affordable and accessible medical, behavioral health, and dental care among low-income, uninsured, and underserved populations residing outside the city and county of Denver. STRIDE’s current service area encompasses Adams, Arapahoe, Douglas, Jefferson, and Park counties and the Cities of Aurora, Arvada, Edgewater, Englewood, Lakewood, Littleton, Parker, and Wheat Ridge in the state of Colorado. From a single clinic in 1989, STRIDE has grown into a large, integrated health care delivery system with nearly 20 health center locations providing primary medical care, dental care, behavioral health, and wrap around services, including three School Based Health Centers (SBHCs) and a mobile dental van.
