Marissa Escajeda Sauer, MPA, MA has a wealth of experience in nonprofit organizations, specializing in supporting survivors of sexual violence. Recently serving as the Managing Director at Strong Women, Strong Girls, Marissa has also held roles such as Volunteer Medical Advocate and Intern Supervisor at Pittsburgh Action Against Rape. With a background in program management and research assistance, Marissa's commitment to advocacy and supporting vulnerable populations is evident throughout their career. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and American University, Marissa holds a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Arts in Ethics, Peace, and Global Affairs.

Strong Women, Strong Girls
Strong Women, Strong Girls (SWSG) works to make sure every girl realizes her inner strengths to dream and do. Our organization empowers girls in under-resourced communities to imagine a broader future through a curriculum grounded on female role models, delivered by college women, who are themselves mentored by professional women. With locations in both Boston and Pittsburgh, we partner with schools and after-school providers, and 12 colleges and universities; impacting over 1400 3rd through 5th grade girls and close to 500 college women. We believe in a cycle of mutual empowerment, connecting women and girls at different stages in their lives, so that they not only learn from, but grow with each other. Our mentoring community encourages our girls and young women to be the leaders and changemakers they dream to be.
