Kåre Jørgen Lauvset has extensive experience in software engineering and development. Kåre Jørgen is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at STRYDE since January 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Microsoft as a Senior Software Engineer from January 2018 to December 2020. Kåre Jørgen also held the position of Senior Software Developer at Tieto from February 2016 to December 2017.

Before joining these companies, Kåre worked at Schlumberger as a Senior Software Engineer from July 2008 to January 2016. Their responsibilities included marine electromagnetics data acquisition, land seismic source coordination and control software, and land seismic surveying and sensor positioning. Kåre was also a cofounder at Omniqe AS, where they worked as a Software-, Concept-, and Business Developer from November 2007 to June 2008.

Additionally, Kåre has experience as a Software Consultant at Lauvset Consulting from February 2002 to June 2008. Kåre Jørgen was also a Senior Software Architect at ObexCode AS from April 2004 to January 2008. Furthermore, Kåre cofounded and served as the Head of Development at Smatt AS, where they developed a high-tech search engine that allowed users to search and retrieve recipes via SMS.

Kåre started their career as a Research Fellow at the University of Tromsø in April 1997. During their time there, they worked on their PhD and had a visiting scientist position at Cornell University from 1998 to 1999. Additionally, they cofounded D.A.G. Labs AS and worked as an IT Consultant from July 1997 to April 2001.

Kåre Jørgen Lauvset's education history includes a period of study at Brønnøysund Videregående Skole from 1988 to 1991, where they focused on Nature Sciences. Kåre Jørgen then attended UiT-The Arctic University of Norway from 1992 to 1996, earning a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science. Kåre Jørgen further pursued their academic career at UiT-The Arctic University of Norway from 1997 to 2003, where they were on track to complete their PhD in Computer Science, with a specialization in Distributed Systems.
