Olav Andreas Saure

Olav Andreas Saure has extensive work experience in software development and management roles. Olav Andreas is currently working at STRYDE as the Head of Software, a position they have held since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked at STRYDE as the Lead Software Engineer from February 2020 to April 2023.

Before joining STRYDE, Olav worked at Shearwater GeoServices from November 2018 to February 2020, where they served as a Team Lead Manager.

Olav also has a long tenure at WesternGeco, where they held various positions. Olav Andreas was a Team Lead Manager from February 2018 to November 2018, responsible for coordinating software changes and managing software sustenance activities. From January 2015 to January 2018, they held the same role and was involved in accommodating nodal and analog sensors in a digital sensor lands seismic system. Olav Andreas also worked as a Team Lead Manager from December 2011 to December 2014. Prior to that, they were a Software Engineer/Project Architect from January 2007 to December 2011, and a Software Engineer from March 2005 to December 2006, working on a sustaining project for a legacy marine seismic navigation system.

Before joining WesternGeco, Olav worked at WesternGeco from January 2003 to December 2004, serving as a Project Architect and a Software Engineer. In their role as a Project Architect, they were responsible for developing a high-level monitoring and control system for a seabed seismic system, as well as implementing architecture for a software control system for a directional antenna system. Olav Andreas then transitioned to a Software Engineer role from August 2000 to December 2002, contributing to the sustainable development of a marine seismic acquisition system.

Overall, Olav Andreas Saure has a strong background in software development, team management, and project architecture, with extensive hands-on coding experience in Java, Visual C++, and Qt libraries.

Olav Andreas Saure completed their Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Glasgow between 1994 and 1998. Olav Andreas then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science in Information Technology from the University of Strathclyde between 1998 and 1999.
