Shelbi Cole

Shelbi Cole is a Senior Mathematics Specialist at Student Achievement Partners, a position held since August 2015. Prior to this role, Shelbi served as Deputy Director of Content at Smarter Balanced at UCLA and Math Director at Smarter Balanced, focusing on the development of high-quality mathematics items for assessment purposes. Shelbi also worked as an Education Consultant for the CT State Department of Education, overseeing the creation of the Connecticut Academic Performance Test for Mathematics and providing professional learning on assessment changes due to Common Core standards. Earlier experience includes a role as a Research Assistant at the University of Connecticut, where Shelbi developed differentiated mathematics curriculum resources for a national research study and provided professional learning support. Shelbi Cole earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Psychology from the University of Connecticut between 2007 and 2010.
