Zachary Bolick has a diverse work experience in the field of conservation and natural resources management. Zachary started their career as a Seasonal Park Ranger with the National Park Service, where they focused on educating the public and managing park visitation. Zachary then worked as a Management Intern with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, gaining experience in administrative and organizational tasks.
Moving forward, Zachary worked as a Seasonal Park Ranger with the National Park Service in various locations and seasons, further honing their skills in visitor engagement and interpretation. Zachary also served as a Graduate Research Assistant and an OUS Institute for Natural Resources Policy Intern at Oregon State University, where they gained research and policy experience in the field.
In 2013, Zachary took on the role of the Utah Community Coordinator - Steven and Roberta Denning Landscape Conservation Fellow at the National Parks Conservation Association. Here, they focused on writing and editing amicus briefs, developing communication materials, and building relationships with stakeholders.
Zachary then transitioned to the Bay Area Open Space Council as a Development Coordinator, contributing to fundraising and development efforts. Following this, they joined the Student Conservation Association, starting as a Conservation Program Manager for Alaska and Hawaii. Zachary later served as a Partnership Manager for the Western United States, where they managed partnerships, drafted grant proposals, and facilitated communication with stakeholders.
Zachary's most recent role was with the Student Conservation Association as the Partnership Director for Alaska and the Pacific Islands, where they managed strategic partnerships and generated reports within SCA databases.
Throughout their career, Zachary has demonstrated strong skills in strategic planning, partnership management, financial reporting and analysis, data management, grant writing, and outreach.
Zachary Bolick has a strong education background in the field of policy and political science. Zachary obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Honors Political Science and Global Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 2005 to 2009. Following that, they pursued a Master of Public Policy degree with a specialization in Environmental Policy at Oregon State University from 2011 to 2013.
In addition to their formal education, Bolick has acquired several certifications to enhance their knowledge and expertise. Zachary obtained a Wilderness First Responder certification from NOLS Wilderness Medicine in April 2019. In July 2012, they received certifications in DOI NEPA and ESA Compliance, and PEPC from the National Park Service. Bolick also obtained a CITI Ethics certification from the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative in July 2011. Furthermore, they completed Eppley Interpretive Certificates from the Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands in June 2010.
