Student Energy at UofC
Kareem Youssef is an undergraduate researcher at the Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary, and serves as an energy systems engineering intern at Kanin Energy. Experience includes developing tools for estimating costs related to power cables, analyzing compliance with electrical transmission standards, and supporting waste-heat-to-power projects. Kareem has held leadership roles as the president and co-founder of Student Energy at the University of Calgary, overseeing executive team-building and project fundraising initiatives. Previous positions include electrical engineering student at Canadian Natural Resources Limited, where responsibilities involved instrumentation and controls for brownfield projects, as well as research assistant focused on methane emissions assessment. Kareem is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, specializing in Electrical and Digital Engineering, anticipated to graduate in 2025.
