Gladys Borrayo Villalvazo is an accomplished scholar involved in diverse educational and professional experiences. Currently holding a scholarship at Students Rising Above since July 2019 and engaged in the Summer Math and Science Honors Academy since June 2017, Gladys has contributed to research aimed at developing a low-cost personal device to improve air quality for marginalized communities. As a student at College Track, Gladys has honed college readiness skills, while participation in Girls Inc. of Alameda County has fostered professional development through presentations and communication training. Prior experience includes a waitress/host role at Boulevard Burgers, where leadership and training skills were demonstrated, and an internship at The Wright Institute, focused on mental health stigmatization in Latinx communities. Gladys holds an Associate's degree in Psychology from the Peralta Community College District and is currently pursuing a degree at the University of California, Berkeley.
