Jocelyn Gama

Ambassador at Students Rising Above

Jocelyn Gama is an experienced professional in community engagement and youth program development, currently serving as a Grants Program Associate at Vision Quilt since September 2023. Jocelyn has been involved with the California Opportunity Youth Network as a Steering Committee Member and Research Fellow since May 2022, and has held a fellowship position with Opportunity Youth United since June 2021. Previously, Jocelyn was the Youth Program Director at Urban Strategies Council, overseeing youth fellows and contributing to the Oakland General Plan Update for 2045. Additional experience includes roles as a Program Associate at Urban Strategies Council, where YPAR research was conducted, and as an Educator with the Social Justice Sewing Academy. Jocelyn has also curated exhibits at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, interned with the ACLU, and participated in various initiatives addressing social justice issues across the United States. Jocelyn holds a degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
