Emogene Cataldo, PhD has a diverse work experience. Emogene began their career in 2008 as an Education Department Intern at Walker Art Center. In 2009, they became a Teaching Artist at the same institution. In 2010, they moved to Night Kitchen Interactive as a Research Coordinator. In 2012, they joined Nexen Group, Inc. as a Web Design Associate. From 2014 to 2021, they worked at Columbia University in the City of New York, where they held various roles, including PhD Researcher and TA, Art History, Instructor of Record, Art Humanities, and Lead Content Editor and Designer, Life of A Cathedral Website. Most recently, they have been employed as a Senior Content Designer and UX Writer at Studio Rodrigo since 2021.

Emogene Cataldo obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Carleton College in 2010, majoring in Studio Art. Emogene then studied abroad at the Lamar Dodd School of Art (University of Georgia) in Cortona, Italy, in 2008. In 2014, they earned a Master's Degree in Art History from Columbia University, and in 2016 they obtained a Master of Philosophy - MPhil in Art History from the same institution. Finally, in 2021 they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Art History from Columbia University.
