Kelly Keeling has a diverse work experience, starting in 2010 as a Mathematics and Statistics Tutor at the Tutorial Learning Center. In 2014, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin. In 2015, they interned at ExxonMobil Exploration Company. From 2016 to 2021, they served as a Geophysicist at ExxonMobil, where they worked on projects in Guyana and West Africa, evaluating seismic data and developing geologic models. In 2021, they joined Improbable as an Applied Scientist, where they researched and defined model requirements for a human movement model focused on traffic and pedestrian travel. The model was calibrated using traffic flow data and implemented in a simulation environment. Currently, they are working as a Data Scientist at Studio X, starting in 2023.

Kelly Keeling has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics, Statistics, and Geology from Colorado Mesa University, which they obtained between the years 2009 and 2014. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Geophysics at The University of Texas at Austin from 2014 to 2016.
