Ian Smith

Ian Smith has a diverse and extensive work experience in the film and television industry. Ian is currently working as a Co-Founder at Studiobox, where they merge cinema-level equipment with remote collaboration and capture software. This allows filmmakers, broadcasters, event producers, podcasters, and video creators to capture cinema quality video and audio remotely.

Prior to this, Ian was the Owner of Avian Productions from 2008 to 2023. Ian has also worked as a Director of Photography at Leopard USA, responsible for lighting and camera operations on select episodes of House Hunters International.

Ian has also worked at Ora TV, where they served as a Director and a Director of Photography on shows like Larry King Now and Politicking. Ian was responsible for all lighting and camera operations on these shows, both in the studio and in the field. Ian also co-designed and built the in-studio lighting grid.

Additionally, Ian has held roles as a Field Director, Producer, and Director of Photography at Love Productions, where they worked on The Great American Bake Off. Ian has also worked at ESL - Turtle Entertainment as a Director of Photography on Bootcamp: Immortals and ESL Replay, and at Studio71 as a Director of Photography on Game Fnatic.

Throughout their career, Ian has also worked on various projects as a Director of Photography for Anoto Creative, The Complex Group, and Maxim Magazine, among others. Ian'swork has encompassed a range of projects including music videos, commercials, and docu-series.

Ian Smith attended the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2000 to 2004 where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film & Digital Media.
