Ashutosh Narkar has worked in the software engineering field since 2010. In 2010, they began their career as a Network Operations Center Engineer at Global Telesystems. In 2011, they moved to Tulip Telecom as an Assistant Network Engineer. In 2012, they worked as a Network Operator at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2013, they joined Cyan, Inc. as a Software Engineer. From 2015 to 2018, they were a Principal Engineer - Software Development at Verizon Labs, where they developed microservices and a highly-available distributed key-value store. Most recently, they have been a Senior Software Engineer at Styra, where they have been a core contributor to the open source, general-purpose policy engine Open Policy Agent. Ashutosh also developed The Rego Playground.

Ashutosh Narkar completed their SSC from St. Anne's High School. Ashutosh then earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Mumbai. Finally, they obtained a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2013.
