Surag Mungekar

Surag Mungekar is an experienced information security leader and consultant with a robust background in compliance, security, and data privacy initiatives. Currently serving as Head of Information Security at Success Academy Charter Schools since June 2025, Surag has held prominent roles including President at Garus and Fractional CISO/Compliance Advisor at Rupert. Surag has successfully implemented compliance programs for various standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR across multiple organizations. With a strong technical foundation from a BS in Computer Engineering from Columbia Engineering, Surag has demonstrated leadership in engineering and security roles at several companies, including Dandi, Sealed, and Grovo, which was acquired by Cornerstone OnDemand.
