Mia Brett

Mia Brett is currently a Professor at Suffolk County Community College, having previously served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of African American History at Washington and Lee University. With a strong background in academia, Brett has held adjunct positions at multiple institutions, including Queens College and Adelphi University, specializing in courses related to history. In addition to academic roles, Brett is a Weekly Columnist for AlterNet and has contributed writings to The Washington Post. Notably, Brett co-founded All Women's Progress, a nonpartisan feminist think tank aimed at enhancing women's representation in policy and politics. Brett earned a Doctor of Philosophy in History from Stony Brook University and holds a B.A. in American Studies from Barnard College, with additional studies at King's College London.
