Yasir Rashid

Yasir Rashid is an experienced automation and manufacturing information systems professional with a strong background in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Currently serving as Associate Director of Automation & Manufacturing Information Systems at Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. since November 2022, Yasir has previously held leadership roles such as Director of Automation and IT at Taysha Gene Therapies, where responsibilities included designing a $120M gene therapy facility. Prior experience at Merck involved supporting GMP vaccine manufacturing through automation system design and management, while contributions at Elanco focused on improving process efficiency in manufacturing environments. Yasir began as an Automation Engineer at Apro Resources, and earlier academic roles included research and development at North Carolina State University, where a BS in Chemical Engineering was earned.
