Yoshihito Deguchi

Yoshihito Deguchi serves as the General Manager for the Regulatory Affairs and Chemical Safety Department within the Environmental Health Division at Sumitomo Chemical, starting in January 2017. In this role, Yoshihito is responsible for the registration and regulatory safety assessment of Environmental Health products and agrochemicals on a global scale, including compliance with regulations from agencies such as the USEPA and the EU. Previous positions include General Manager and Regulatory Toxicologist at Sumitomo Chemical America, Inc., where responsibilities encompassed registration to key regulatory bodies and risk assessment for chemicals and agrochemicals. Yoshihito's extensive career at Sumitomo includes significant research contributions in toxicology and safety assessment spanning over two decades. Academically, Yoshihito holds a Doctorate in Nanomaterial Science from Kyoto University and a degree from Tottori University.
