Yoshi Sagawa

Yoshi Sagawa, MEng, MSc, is an experienced executive in the mining industry with a focus on mineral resources, particularly copper, gold, and nickel. Currently serving as Executive Officer and Senior Deputy General Manager of the Mineral Resources Division at Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd., Yoshi leads various mining operations and has played a pivotal role in increasing production efficiency. Previous positions include General Manager at both exploration and business development departments, technical support for the Sierra Gorda operation in Chile, and a stint as Deputy General Manager at Pogo Mine, where safety and productivity significantly improved under Yoshi's leadership. Sagawa’s extensive background also includes technical roles at Northparkes Mines and Hishikari Gold Mine, along with advanced qualifications from the Colorado School of Mines and The University of Tokyo.
