Schuyler Cullen has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Schuyler is currently the CEO of Summer Robotics, a company focused on robotic vision. Prior to this, they worked at Samsung Electronics, where they held various positions. Schuyler served as the Vice President of AI and Robotics, leading a team in developing Samsung's autonomous driving algorithmic stack. Schuyler also worked as the Senior Director of AI and Autonomous Driving, where they led a team in researching and developing autonomous driving technologies and also spearheaded investment initiatives in AI processor, sensor, and AI software companies. Before joining Samsung, Schuyler worked as the Director of Software Architecture.
Before their tenure at Samsung, Schuyler worked as the Principal at Cullen Consulting, a consulting firm. Schuyler was also the Co-founder and CEO of Keystream, where they developed algorithms for automated tracking, extraction, and recognition of objects in videos, and leveraged this technology to bring innovations to video advertising on the web. Prior to that, they worked as a consultant for various projects while being self-employed. Additionally, Schuyler worked at Pulsent Corp as a Scientist and later as a Project Leader, where they led a team in implementing video compression algorithms and contributed to the development of a bit rate control routine for the Pulsent codec. Schuyler also authored a fundamental video compression patent during their time at Pulsent Corp.
Schuyler Cullen obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Math from Caltech between 1991 and 1995. Following this, from 1995 to 2000, Schuyler pursued a PhD in Physics at Stanford University.
