Don Leistman

Don Leistman is a software engineer who currently works at Summer. Don has previous experience working as a teaching fellow at Fullstack Academy of Code and as a registrar and webmaster at The Brooklyn Rail.

Leistman attended a 13-week immersive program in web development at Fullstack Academy of Code, where they learned a Javascript tech stack with Node.js, PostreSQL, Express.js, Sequelize, React and Redux. Don also has experience working with teams on an eCommerce website and final Capstone project, which has allowed him to develop discipline in Git workflows and Agile methodologies.

Prior to their work at Fullstack Academy of Code, Leistman was a registrar at Alex Katz Studio, where they managed the day-to-day studio operations of internationally-renowned artist Alex Katz. Don started as a studio assistant and was promoted to Registrar after taking initiative to reorganize the studio's inventory system, media archive, and consignment workflows. While at the studio, Leistman also worked closely with a web developer to recreate an existing Filemaker inventory system as an online platform, tracking 10,000+ artworks across galleries, museums, and internal storage locations. Don coordinated logistics with galleries and museums as well.

Leistman also has experience as a webmaster, having worked for The Brooklyn Rail from September 2010 to June 2017.

Don Leistman's educational career includes a Fullstack Web Development program from Fullstack Academy and a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts, Art Don'story from Columbia University.
