Ashley Gumm, CAPM® has held a variety of roles in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries since 2016. In 2021, they began working as a Project Management Associate and Quality Assurance Associate for Summit Biosciences Inc. In their roles, they serve as Project Manager for internal projects and initiatives, ensures Project timeline, Gantt Chart, action and decision logs and master trackers are up-to-date, and collaborates with Project Managers and responsible parties to ensure Project Critical Deliverables are met. Ashley also conducts internal department audits and advises senior management on findings and recommendations, supports regulatory inspections and client audits by preparing all documentation and trending reports, and manages the Vendor Qualification Program.
From 2019 to 2021, Ashley was employed at Pathology and Cytology Laboratories, Inc. as a Molecular Send-outs Coordinator and Grossing Technician. As Molecular Send-outs Coordinator, they developed and maintained a testing request spreadsheet to produce trends for presenting to the Medical Director and Business Manager, assisted Finance team with budgeting and allocations as needed, and proposed potential cost-saving avenues to the Medical Director. As Grossing Technician, they dissected various pathological specimens in a laboratory setting, ensured compliance with laboratory safety practices, and collaborated with client services and histology to ensure that client schedule needs were met.
In 2018, Ashley worked as a Quality Assurance Specialist for Piramal Pharma Solutions. From 2017 to 2018, they were employed as a Patient Care Technician for Baptist Health System KY & IN. In 2016, they were the Laboratory Manager and Chemical Hygiene Officer for the Blackburn Lab in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Kentucky. In this role, they managed the undergraduate students, maintained compliance with all laboratory, EHS, and IACUC regulations, and oversaw the care and use of the animals in the Zebrafish Laboratory. Ashley also conducted several tumor transplantation experiments, RT-PCR, Zebrafish cloning and mating, and fluorescent microscopy, while primarily focusing on the micro injection of DNA and RNA constructs into freshly spawned embryos.
Ashley Gumm holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Emory University, which they obtained in 2014. In September 2022, they obtained the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification from the Project Management Institute.
