Stephen Walters

Stephen Walters is a seasoned mental health professional and minister with extensive experience in counseling and pastoral leadership. Currently serving as a Staff Therapist and Site Lead at Summit Counseling Center in Johns Creek, GA since July 2021, Stephen previously held roles including Staff Associate Therapist and Intern Therapist at the same organization, where expertise in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma was developed. As a long-time minister and pastor since 2000, Stephen has contributed to various United Methodist Churches, exemplified by leadership at Cumming First United Methodist Church and The Orchard Church, focusing on disciple-making and community engagement. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University, a Master of Divinity from Emory University, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from The University of Georgia.

Summit Counseling Center - Atlanta

A family resource center providing professional counseling, psychological testing, and school-based therapy services that address the whole person - body, mind, spirit, and relationships. The Summit also provides Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Awareness Education. With a staff of over 30 licensed therapists, we serve people of all ages and provide a wide range of specialty services, including help for those who want to grow individually, couples who want to improve their relationship, parents, teens, and children. We help people tackle alcohol or substance abuse problems, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and loss. We serve our community through our Main Office in Johns Creek, 6 community-based locations in Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Dunwoody, and Sugar Hill, and multiple public and private schools in Fulton, Dekalb, and Gwinnett County.
