Doreen Kouri possesses extensive experience in the field of interpreting and support services, currently serving as a Service and Support Administrator and previously as a Referral & Support Specialist for the Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board since August 2017. Prior roles include a long tenure with Akron Public Schools as a Sign Language Interpreter from 1998 to 2017, where Doreen demonstrated proficiency in various educational settings. Doreen has also provided interpreting services for Greater Akron Deaf Services, specializing in community and educational environments, and worked as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor for the Rehabilitation Services Commission, where responsibilities included vocational counseling for individuals with disabilities. Earlier career experiences include interpreting at Canton City Schools and serving as a Camp Counselor for the Deaf at Lions School for the Deaf. Doreen holds a Master's degree in Education from Kent State University, a Bachelor's degree in Technical Teacher Education from The University of Akron, and an Associate's degree in Sign Language Interpretation and Translation.
