Juan Vanegas

Juan Vanegas has held various supply chain management positions over the course of their career. Juan began their career at Sycom Carvajal, where they taught software applications and managed cement plants. Juan then worked at Termilenio S.A. as a Shift Engineer before joining Cementos Argos as a Production Manager. At Cementos Argos, they implemented cost-saving projects and enhanced the S&OP process. Juan later became the Supply Chain Director for Colombia and implemented backhauling and profitability analytics projects. Juan then joined Argos USA as the Senior Director of Supply Chain and eventually became the Vice President of Supply Chain. In these roles, they led important processes such as increasing imports and developing strategies for business growth. Currently, Juan works at Summit Materials as the SVP of Supply Chain.

Juan Vanegas has a diverse education history. Juan obtained a Master of Science in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2012-2014. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Universidad EAFIT in 2007-2009, specializing in Project Management and Business Administration. Additionally, they completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Process Engineering from Universidad EAFIT in the same period. Before pursuing their MBA, Juan Vanegas received a Chemical Engineering degree from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 1997-2002. Juan also holds additional certifications including a Financial Analyst Certification from Escuela de Ingeniería de Antioquia and a Certificate in Teaching for Graduate Students from Politécnico Superior de Colombia, both obtained in 2020.
