James Buchanan

James Buchanan is a seasoned professional in the oil and gas industry with significant expertise in pipeline operations and control. Currently serving as a Senior Natural Gas Pipeline Controller at Summit Midstream Partners, LP since July 2016, James monitors multiple natural gas gathering systems and ensures daily customer nominations are met. Prior to this role, James contributed to Kinder Morgan for over a decade in various capacities, including Control Room Assistant Manager and Pipeline Controller, where responsibilities included managing pipeline movements and ensuring regulatory compliance. James also possesses a distinguished background in law enforcement, having served 20 years with the Liberty County Sheriff's Department and as a Deputy Sheriff, alongside military service as a U.S. Marine specializing in security. Academically, James holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Law Enforcement from Lee College.
