David Tafoya

David Tafoya is a skilled wildlife biologist with extensive experience in conducting surveys and monitoring special status animal and plant species across various regions. Currently employed at SummitWest Environmental, Inc. since 2021, David specializes in preconstruction surveys and construction monitoring in California. Previously, David served as a project manager and avian biologist at Conservation Insight, focusing on the endangered Cape Sable seaside sparrow. David has also held positions at HawkWatch International, Western Riverside County Regional Conservation Authority, the U.S. Geological Survey, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from California State University-San Bernardino.
