Sydney Meertens

Sydney Meertens began their professional experience in 2015 as a Lifeguard Aide for the Avila Beach Junior Lifeguards program. Sydney actively participated in the program for seven years and then served as an aide for two years, assisting with beach activities and training. In 2016, they became a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor at the San Luis Obispo Swim Center, ensuring the safety of the public and teaching swim lessons to children. From 2019 to 2020, Sydney worked as a Sales Associate at Central Coast Surfboards, where they communicated with customers and had in-depth knowledge of surf and skate products. During this time, they also had a seasonal role as a Sales Associate at Good Clean Fun Surf & Sport. In 2021, Sydney interned as a Supply Chain Intern at Sun Bum for two months. Currently, they hold the position of Packaging Innovation Coordinator at Sun Bum, starting in June 2022.

Sydney Meertens completed their Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology and Packaging from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in the years 2017 to 2021. Prior to this, they attended San Luis Obispo High School from 2014 to 2017.
