Laura Maxwell

Laura Maxwell currently serves as the Director of Sustainability Strategy at Sun Life, where responsibilities include advancing sustainability initiatives with a focus on women's health, financial security, Indigenous reconciliation, and the interplay between climate and health. Previously, Laura worked at Deloitte as a Manager in Sustainability & Social Impact, co-leading initiatives to enhance ESG strategies for Canadian companies. Career highlights also include roles as a Social Impact and Public Relations Coordinator at MCIS Language Solutions, an Environmental Sustainability Officer at A Rocha, and a Climate Change Advisor for the Republic of Kiribati at COP21. Laura's early experience includes research and engagement roles at the Leadership and Democracy Lab, University of Toronto, and Me to We. Educational background includes a Master's Degree in Development Practice from the University of Waterloo and an Honors Bachelor of Science in Biology and Political Science from Western University.
