Devin Welch

CEO at Sun Tribe Solar

An international entrepreneur, sustainability innovator, and community advocate, Devin Welch has lived and worked on four continents – championing bottom-up environmental solutions that empower local leaders. Today, he is a Co-Founder and CEO of Sun Tribe Solar, where he follows a servant leadership model focused on building the best team in renewable energy.

Previously, Devin served as Chief Strategy and Development Officer at Sun Tribe, which has consistently been on the front lines of innovation: developing Virginia’s first reclaimed coal mine land solar project, building the Commonwealth’s first Gold Certified Pollinator-Friendly solar site, and powering the country’s first 100 percent on-site renewable energy school district. He has worked with stakeholders to successfully create a robust on-site solar market in Virginia – a state which is increasingly serving as a model for climate action and forward-looking public policy.

Prior to Sun Tribe, Devin was the CEO of Barefoot Atlas, a global volunteering network. He also served on the Market Transformation team at the World Wildlife Foundation and worked with refugee communities in Southeast Asia.

Devin is a founding member of the Charlottesville Renewable Energy Alliance and serves on boards for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Community Climate Collaborative, Tom Tom Foundation, and Amazon Aid Foundation.
