GTS Applied Researcher at Sun World Grapes

Kaylah Vasquez has a diverse work experience in the agricultural and viticulture industry. Kaylah is currently working as a GTS Applied Researcher at Sun World International since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at California State University, Fresno starting from February 2021.

In 2022, Kaylah had two speaking roles. Firstly, they were a Speaker at the American Society for Enology and Viticulture, where they presented on the use of satellite sensors and multispectral imagery for precision-driven farming techniques. Secondly, they were a Speaker at Sun-Maid Growers of California, where they shared their knowledge and expertise.

In 2022, Kaylah also presented at the World Ag Expo, discussing the use of UAV and satellite imagery for monitoring grapevine water stress. Kaylah emphasized the importance of remote sensed data for practical applications and addressing the challenges faced by growers.

Prior to their research and speaking roles, Kaylah gained experience as a Team Manager at CRU Winery from November 2019 to March 2021. Kaylah started in the tasting room and eventually became the tasting room manager, while also working in marketing and wine production.

In 2020, Kaylah worked as a Research Assistant at the University of California Cooperative Extension, focusing on irrigation efficiency in vineyards. This work was done on behalf of the UC Coop Extension and The Wine Group, with the official employer being OFR Inc.

Additionally, in 2019, Kaylah worked as a Field Scout at Nutrien Ag Solutions, where they gained practical experience in field scouting.

Overall, Kaylah Vasquez's work experience demonstrates their expertise in agricultural research, viticulture, and precision farming techniques, along with their managerial skills and knowledge in wine production and marketing.

Kaylah Vasquez obtained a Bachelor's degree in Viticulture and Enology from California State University, Fresno from 2016 to 2020. Kaylah later pursued a Master of Science degree in Viticulture and Enology with a focus in water management at the same university from 2021 to 2022. Additionally, they obtained an FAA License from the Federal Aviation Administration in June 2021.
