Scott Bush has over 30 years of experience in the blood banking industry. Scott began their career as a Component Laboratory Supervisor at the American Red Cross in 1991. Scott then moved on to become the Laboratory/ Apheresis Manager for the Western Lake Erie Region. In 2005, Scott joined the Suncoast Communities Blood Bank as the Director of Donor Service and Recruitment, and later became the Chief Operating Officer. In 2011, they were promoted to Chief Executive Officer, a position they currently hold.

Scott Bush completed their education with a Master's degree in Non-profit Management from the University of Central Florida from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Ohio Dominican University between 1992 and 1995. Additionally, they earned an Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Columbus State Community College from 1989 to 1991. In 1988, Scott Bush attended The Ohio State University, where they studied Chemistry, but the information regarding their degree completion from this institution is not available.
