Derek Green

Derek Green is an experienced operations leader with a strong background in the energy sector. Currently serving as Operations Lead at Suncor since March 2025, Derek oversees 17 Operations & Logistics sites across Canada, focusing on high-profile projects in renewable fuels and regulatory compliance. Prior to Suncor, Derek held the position of Operations Manager at PetroChina Canada, where a successful operational transition was achieved. Derek's tenure at Ovintiv included roles as Coordinator, Lead Operator, and Project Operator, contributing to significant production rate increases and cost reductions. Derek began the career as an Operator with Compton Petroleum and EOG Resources. Education includes a degree in Gas Process Operations from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and training in Fired Process Heater Operation from Lakeland College Canada.
