Ged McNamee is an experienced soccer recruitment officer currently serving at Sunderland AFC since January 2020, while also holding the position of Head of Recruitment for the Academy. Previously, McNamee worked at Hartlepool United Football Club from April 2018 to October 2019 as First Team Coach and Assistant Manager, where responsibilities included delivering a comprehensive coaching program and maintaining a positive training environment. With a long tenure at Sunderland AFC from 1997 to 2016, McNamee progressed through various roles related to youth development, ultimately becoming Academy Manager and Head of Coaching, overseeing player development from U8 to U21. Earlier experience includes leadership positions at Manchester United from 1992 to 1997 in the School of Excellence program for the North East.
