Krista Engel

Krista Engel is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in healthcare program management and provider engagement. Currently serving as a Senior Network Development Specialist at Sunflower Health Plan since April 2021, Krista specializes in provider engagement programs, including pay-for-performance initiatives, continuity of care, and value-based contracting. Prior to this role, Krista worked at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment from March 2012 to April 2021, where responsibilities included directing the Medicaid Program Integrity program and overseeing fraud detection efforts. Krista's career began at the Kansas Department on Aging, where management of the HCBS/Frail Elderly Waiver Program was key. An alumnus of Kansas State University, Krista holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a secondary focus in Gerontology, complemented by education from the Medicaid Integrity Institute.
