Rob Watkiss has a diverse work experience. From 2011 to 2018, they have held various roles in different companies. In 2011, they worked as a Junior Mechanical and Software Engineer (Part time) at Watkiss Automation, where they developed software and GUI for a sheet metal press, adapted an existing product to altered specifications, and redesigned a front-end GUI system based on the Android framework. From 2013 to 2017, they worked as a Software Engineer (Freelance) at LTM Brands Ltd, where they completed the development of a back-end order fulfillment system and automated routine tasks and statistical analysis of sales performance. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as an Industrial Placement - Race Engineering at the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, where they provided data analysis and simulation support over the course of a race weekend and supported running test and development drivers in the driver in the loop simulator. Finally, from 2018 to present, they have been the Chief Technology Officer at SunGod.

Rob Watkiss attended Bedford School from 1999 to 2011. Rob then went on to Imperial College London, where they obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Aeronautical Engineering with Year in Industry in 2017. In 2020, they obtained a Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification from Google.
