John Thurman

John Thurman has a diverse range of work experience spanning several industries and leadership roles. John has served as the Chief Operations Officer for the Sunjewels Group, overseeing operations for a jewelry export manufacturer. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Consultant at Ingenious Operational Solutions, where they provided innovative solutions for operational challenges in various industries. John also served as the General Manager for Pyrotek, managing multiple manufacturing and sales verticals globally. Additionally, they were the Managing Director of Sheffield United Football Club Limited, overseeing the business turnaround of the professional football club. Earlier in their career, they held the position of Director of Operations at Kenmore Estates, responsible for various operations within a Scottish Highland estate. John also served as the Operations Director and Deputy Managing Director at British Data Management Plc, where they managed seismic data for the oil exploration industry. John started their career as a Captain in the Royal Marines, leading commandos in active service conflicts.

John Thurman has a diverse education history. John completed the Accelerated Development Programme for High Potential Executives at the London Business School, with a focus on Business Leadership, Strategies for Growth, and M&A. John holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree with Honours from the University of St Andrews, where they studied Geology, Psychology, Philosophy, and Geographical Studies. Additionally, John has pursued Computing for Business studies at the University of Exeter. John obtained expertise in Kaizen Leadership and techniques for manufacturing operations at the Kanzen Institute Asia-Pacific Pvt Ltd from 2002 to 2021. Furthermore, they completed the Officer Royal Marines training at the Commando Training Centre, Royal Marines, specializing in Commando Leadership. John is also an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Foresters, trained in Forestry and Woodland Management. Recently, they attended a Business Analytics for Data Driven Decisions program at Dun & Bradstreet in 2020.
