Following their time at the community college, Melissa went on to pursue further education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. From 2000 to 2004, they studied Computer Science and earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.

In addition to their formal education, Melissa has also obtained certifications to enhance their professional skills. In December 2008, they achieved the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. Furthermore, in June 2013, Melissa received a certification called "Foundation in Information Security Management Systems according to ISO/IEC 27001" from TUV SUD Academy. These certifications demonstrate their commitment to lifelong learning and staying up-to-date with industry standards and practices.
