Mona Babauta

Mona Babauta currently serves as the CEO and General Manager at SunLine Transit Agency since August 2023, with a strong background in transit management. From April 2017 to August 2023, Mona held the position of Deputy General Manager for the Golden Gate Transit Division at the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District, where responsibilities included oversight of a $100 million budget and a workforce of approximately 400 employees. Additionally, Mona has been a Board Member with the Center for Transportation and the Environment since April 2017 and served on the Executive Committee of the California Transit Association from November 2009 to August 2023. Previous roles include Executive Director of Solano County Transit, Transit Manager for the City of Fairfield, and Deputy Director of Transit for the City of Santa Rosa. Mona holds a Master of Public Administration in State and Local Finance from Syracuse University, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame, and completed the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship in International Affairs at Carnegie Mellon University.
