Jessie Rodriguez-Nordlund is a dedicated educator with extensive experience as a 1st and 2nd Grade Teacher at Sunnyvale School District since August 2020. Prior to this, Jessie worked at Metro Nashville Public Schools from August 2013 to May 2020, primarily as a 3rd Grade English Language Learners Teacher, where responsibilities included co-teaching English Language Arts for a diverse group of students and employing SIOP best practices for language development. Jessie also served as a 3rd Grade Teacher, implementing curriculum and instructional plans in alignment with Tennessee state standards. Additionally, Jessie held a leadership role as Director and Teacher at CYT Nashville Inc. Educational credentials include a Certification in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language from Vanderbilt Peabody College and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Theater from Vanderbilt University.

The Sunnyvale School District team includes 943 highly qualified educators, administrators and support staff whose primary goal is to enable the approximately 6,800 students enrolled in our schools to achieve academic success. Our district is comprised of a preschool program, eight elementary schools serving students in Kindergarten through fifth grade, and two middle schools serving students in sixth through eighth grade. About two-thirds of the K-8 students who live in the City of Sunnyvale are within the boundaries of the Sunnyvale School District. Sunnyvale is located in the northwestern section of Santa Clara County, the heart of the Silicon Valley. This area is home to many of the largest and most progressive electronics firms in the nation.
