Stephen Freeman

Stephen Freeman is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc., a global biopharmaceutical company with over 1,600 employees focused on the innovative application of science and medicine to help people with serious medical conditions.

Mr. Freeman provides executive leadership for all accounting, financial reporting, planning and analysis, procurement, tax and treasury functions and serves as a member of the Sunovion Executive Leadership Team. He is also a member of the Executive Officer's Committee of Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma America (SDPA), an affiliate of Sunovion. He joined the Company in 2004 and has served in a number of senior leadership roles including Corporate Controller.

Mr. Freeman has participated in several key initiatives and business development transactions for the Company; most notably, he helped navigate the acquisition of Sepracor by Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma in 2009 and the subsequent merger of Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma's original U.S. subsidiary and Sepracor to form Sunovion in 2010.

Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Freeman served as the Corporate Controller for Firepond, a software firm. He began his career with Ernst & Young LLP in Boston, MA. Mr. Freeman holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Worcester State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Clark University.
