Kelly Pena, CPA, MBA, currently serves as the Financial Controller at Sunrise Communities, a position held since August 2023. Prior to this, Kelly spent nearly a decade at Shinola in various roles, culminating as the Director of Finance, and previously held positions such as Accounting and FP&A Manager, Accounting Supervisor, and Accountant. Earlier experience includes a Senior Associate role at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, where Kelly specialized in serving middle market clients, preparing complex federal and state tax returns, and leading training sessions for new associates. Additionally, an initial internship at Baker Tilly involved tax preparation and audit services. Kelly holds an MBA from Wayne State University and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Michigan State University.
