Laura Wait

Laura Wait, CPHR has over 20 years of experience in human resources. Laura has held various leadership roles in notable companies such as Sunrise Farms and Alpha Foods. In their most recent position as Vice President, People and Culture at Sunrise Farms, they worked closely with the executive team to develop and implement HR strategies. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President, People and Culture at Alpha Foods, where they played a key role in the company's rapid growth and expansion. Laura also has experience in the retail industry, having served as the Senior Director of People and Culture at Trail Appliances Ltd. Laura has a strong background in change management, process improvement, and organizational effectiveness. Earlier in their career, Laura worked for Cummins Western Canada, a global Fortune 500 company, where they held senior leadership positions in organizational capability and human resources. Laura has also worked as a Human Resources Consultant at SAGE Developmental Resources and as a Human Resources Generalist at Spectrum Signal Processing. Laura holds a CPHR designation and is known for their expertise in recruitment and selection, compensation, performance management, succession planning, and employee performance reviews.

Laura Wait, CPHR, holds an HR Certificate from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University, obtained in 2004. Laura also possesses a B Sc in Chemistry from Simon Fraser University, earned between 1997 and 2002. In addition to their formal education, Laura has obtained various certifications, including Strategic Planning Foundations, Building Resilience, Leading Your Team Through Change, Lean Six Sigma Foundations, Strategic Human Resources, and Six Sigma Black Belt. Laura is also a member of CPHR BC & Yukon, having joined in 2004 and renewing their membership in 2017.
