João MacHado

João Machado has extensive work experience in various roles related to strategy, mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, and risk management. João is currently working at EDP Renewables APAC as the Executive Director for M&A, Corporate and Business Development, and also holds the position of Head of M&A and Corporate Development. Additionally, they have served as the Head of Strategy and Post-Merger Integration for EDPR Sunseap APAC. Prior to their current roles, João worked at EDP, where they held positions such as Senior Manager for Global Strategy and M&A, Risk Manager for Strategy and Business Planning, Investor Relations, and Energy Trading & Risk Management. João started their career at Ernst & Young as a Consultant.

João Machado obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from FEP U. Porto - Faculty of Economics, where they studied from 2003 to 2007. João later pursued a Master's degree in International Management from INDEG-ISCTE Executive Education, completing their studies from 2010 to 2012. In 2017, they became a member of the CFA Institute.
