Nikolai Tauber

Co-founder & CTO at Sunswap

Nikolai Tauber is an experienced engineer with a background in mechanical engineering, thermodynamics and programming. Nikolai began their career in 2012 as an intern at Teknologisk Institut, where they also worked as a mechanical engineer. During their time there, they developed a test rig to evaluate the mass diffusion coefficient of porous media and conducted laboratory tests on experimental refrigeration units and heat pumps. In 2013, they took on a role as a teaching assistant for thermodynamics and programming at Aarhus University. In 2016, they joined SerEnergy A/S, Methanol Fuel Cell Solutions as a Development Engineer, where they designed balance-of-plant components based on 1D and CFD simulations. From 2017 to 2019, they worked at Dearman as a Senior Thermal Systems Engineer, where they programmed an advanced 1D system model and managed a project that aimed to validate the high-efficiency concept through testing. In 2019, they moved to ARRIVAL as Thermal Systems Lead. Most recently, in 2020, they co-founded Sunswap Ltd and currently serves as the CTO.

Nikolai Tauber obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering with the specialisation Energy- and System Design from Aarhus University between 2010 and 2014. Nikolai then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) in Thermo-fluid Dynamics at Aarhus University from 2014 to 2016. Nikolai also holds a Driver License.
