Matthijs van Leeuwen

Matthijs (Matt) van Leeuwen is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in innovation and entrepreneurship. Currently serving as Chief Innovation Officer at Sunway Group since February 2020 and CEO of Sunway iLabs since September 2016, Matthijs also holds directorial positions at Sunway XFarms and 42 Kuala Lumpur. Additionally, Matthijs has been a Council Member for the Malaysian Business Angel Network and served as a Non-Executive Director at Science Bridge Academy. Prior experience includes roles as a Commercialisation Specialist at PlaTCOM Ventures, COO and Entrepreneur in Residence at CAMTECH, and Co-Founder and COO of SimuGen, a company specializing in computational biology. Matthijs holds a BSc in Biomedical Sciences, an MSc in Science & Business, and has conducted post-graduate research in Epidemiology at prestigious institutions including Utrecht University and the University of Cambridge.
