Jeff Offutt

Jeff Offutt currently serves as Professor and Chair of the Computer Science Department at the University at Albany, SUNY, since September 2023. Prior to this role, Jeff worked at George Mason University for over 30 years, holding the position of Professor of Software Engineering and Associate Department Chair while also directing the MS in software engineering program. Jeff's extensive experience includes editorial work as Editor-in-Chief of the journal of Software Testing, Verification and Reliability, and involvement in research projects and PhD student advisement at the University of Skövde. Additionally, Jeff has contributed to software testing as a Visiting Research Scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and offered consulting services relating to software IP and testing. Academic credentials include a PhD and MS in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, along with a BS in Mathematics from Morehead State University.
